The online Bachelor’s in Data Analytics program prepares you to collect, analyze and present data to empower strategic decision-making. As an EOU student, you will have access to expert faculty and small class sizes for a student-centered learning experience.

The data analytics undergraduate degree program utilizes a broad-based curriculum and cutting-edge industry tools so you gain the specific data analysis expertise you need to advance your career in a wide range of fields. In addition, students entering the program with an associate degree and required mathematics and computer courses will be able to finish their data analytics bachelor’s degree in two years at an accelerated pace.

At the end of your program, you will complete a capstone project, collaborating with one of our university partners to solve an industry problem using real-world data. This experiential learning opportunity gives you hands-on training you can apply in your career and showcase to potential employers.

The online data analytics bachelor’s degree provides comprehensive mathematics and computer programming preparation. Students complete a capstone project to gain experience in the field. An additional emphasis on agricultural data and geographic information systems (GIS) set this program apart.

Course Highlights:

CS 221 C/C++ Programming (four credits)

An introduction to the basics of programming as used in C and C++, including selection statements, loops, arrays, string handling, pointers, registers and functions. Practical exercises will require the construction, compilation, debugging and execution of complete programs that implement given algorithms to solve simple problems. The emphasis in this course will be on the common features of C and C++; however, memory allocation and the use of pointers will be discussed.

DAT 434 Machine Learning (four credits)

This course teaches applications of machine learning techniques. Topics include regression models, decision trees, neural networks, naive Bayes, nearest neighbor algorithms and other clustering and probabilistic classification techniques. [Prereqs: CS 260 and STAT 457]

GEOG 201 Geographic Information Systems (four credits)

An introduction to the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software with a focus on data acquisition, representation and management
